Learn more about Upward Frog CIC
Upward Frog Community Interest Company (CIC) is an innovative yoga company.
We believe that yoga can have a transformational impact on people’s health and wellbeing, and that yoga should be available and accessible to everyone.

We are a social enterprise so we don’t have owners, shareholders or pay dividends. Instead, our trading profits are reinvested into making a difference to health and wellbeing through yoga in our community.
How we invest our profits:
-
Our scheme to break down financial barriers to yoga participation
-
Delivering free and subsidised courses to prevent and manage long-term health conditions
-
Creating supportive, welcoming and inclusive classes for all
-
Investing in collaborative projects to support marginalised and in-need groups
-
Building capacity, capability and creating opportunities for local teachers
Our trading income comes from our yoga studio (classes, courses, memberships and passes) and from commissioned and corporate work.
We also bid for funding from local and national bodies to enable us to run specific projects, courses and programmes in Stockport and Greater Manchester.
Quick facts about Upward Frog
Upward Frog CIC incorporated in December 2022 and started trading on 1 April 2023.
We have been based at our yoga studio in Stockport town centre since January 2019.
Originally operating as a private company, we soon established ourselves as a thriving business in the town.
Covid nearly got the better of us but we were resilient and, in the process, found new members and created a new delivery and revenue stream through Zoom.
During 2022, our founder Emma Gartside decided to move to a profit-for-purpose business structure to realise her vision of a yoga studio that contributed to a fairer, more equitable society.
